Every year the staff at Trinity come together and donate items to the local foodbank. It is a charity that is close to our hearts and something that we have been doing since we first opened in 2017. The need is increasing and we have decided to open it up to patients to give you the opportunity to donate should you want to. We know it has been a tough year for a lot of people and understand that it may not be possible but if anyone would like to join us, any donation will be very much appreciated.
Figures from the city’s Emergency Food Network annual survey reveal a 25% rise in the number of people seeking help from food banks (this is up 9% from the previous year which was already up by 16% from the year before that), social supermarkets and meal projects. More than 6,400 people in the city turned to the network’s members every week over the past year to meet their food needs – with more than 65% of people returning regularly.
We have a very tight deadline this year so if you would like to make a donation to this great charity, please could you bring it in no later than Friday 29th November as the last drop off date for us is Monday 2nd December. Please remember, there is no expectation for anyone to do this but if you can, it is for a great cause locally.
