We are officially accredited as an Armed Forces Veteran Friendly GP surgery.
Trinity Medical Centre is proud to be accredited as a veterans friendly practice by the Royal College of GP’s.
The Armed Forces Covenant states, veterans should receive priority treatment for a condition which relates to their service, subject to clinical need. We are committed to following the Patient Charter <- click here for more. This is to ensure that our veterans have access to the help and support they may need following their service.
Being accredited means that as a practice we can better identify and treat veterans, refer them, where appropriate, the dedicated NHS services and capture better data to improve future health provisions. It also means that the NHS is able to meet the health commitments of the Armed Forces Covenant, which states the Armed Forces community, including veterans, should face no disadvantage in accessing health services and should receive priority care, subject to clinical need.
A Veteran is someone who has served in the British Armed Forces (Regular or Reserve) for at least one day. Veterans also include any member of the Merchant Marine who served in a war zone. This includes convoys in World War 2 and more recently in the Falklands conflict and Gulf Wars.
