Stroke/TIA

If you are on the Practice Stroke/TIA register you will be contacted by SMS or letter requesting an up to date blood pressure reading. If you do not have access to a blood pressure monitor we have one located in the Ground Floor Reception area at the Practice. Depending on your reading you may be asked to start a further 4 or 7 day blood pressure diary. If you do not have access to a blood pressure monitor we have monitors that can be borrowed.

If you would rather see a Healthcare Assistant to take your blood pressure reading please contact the Practice and we can book you in for this.

You will be invited to book a cholesterol blood test with a Phlebotomist.

It is recommended that patients also take an anti-platelet or anticoagulant, and a statin. If you need are not already on these medications you will be contacted in order to make an appointment with one of our Clinical Pharmacists.

Patients on the Practice Stroke/TIA register are eligible to receive a flu vaccination annually during Influenza Vaccination Season. We will contact you when we start to accept bookings for this.
