Mental Health

MHRRS – We provide NHS care across Sussex for people with mental health problems and learning disabilities. We also provide a range of specialist services across south east England. We care for people all of ages, from children and young people through to older people with conditions such as dementia.

MindEncourgages and campaigns for the development of local mental health services. Promotes the rights and interests of service users. Provides information on mental health issues. Promotes services to address unmet needs.

Rethink Mental IllnessRethink works to help everyone affected by severe mental illness and other mental health problems to recover a better quality of life.

Richmond FellowshipFor more than 50 years we have pioneered and practiced our belief in social inclusion and recovery. We believe that mental health is everyone’s business and that we are all dependent on each other to a greater or lesser degree for our mental wellbeing.

GrassrootsA small Brighton based charity with a simple but powerful goal: that no one should have to contemplate suicide alone. We work locally and nationally with communities, organisations and individuals, helping them to become ready, willing and able to effectively support someone at risk of suicide.

Hangleton and BlatchingtonAn independently run Foodbank, with a management committee made up of volunteers from two local churches.

LGBT SwitchboardWe’re here to help you with whatever you want to talk about. Nothing is off limits, and we understand how anxious you might feel before you pick up the phone.

MindWe provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. We campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

Respiratory Team We are a multidisciplinary service which provides specialist assessment and support for people with respiratory disease, enabling patients to live at home, even when they are unwell and to help prevent them being admitted to hospital unnecessarily.

SamaritansWe’re there for people when they need us, which could be any time of day or night. People talk to us for as long as they like, as many times as they like. We don’t rush, interrupt or push anyone out of the door. We let people lead the conversation at their own pace.
