Sussex Trauma Recovery and Patient Engagement Group (STRIPE)

Sussex Trauma Recovery and Patient Engagement Group (STRIPE) is a group for trauma patients, their families and loved ones, providing a safe space to discuss experiences from your trauma journey. The group provides peer support, as well as an opportunity for you to share feedback directly to healthcare workers. Sharing your stories means we can improve care and outcomes for current and future sufferers of trauma related injury and illness. Healthcare workers can also discuss projects with you, to gain your perspective and advice.

The group also features guest speakers, providing education, advice and offers the chance for you to speak to them directly. Speakers include trauma psychologists, pain specialists, therapists, charities, other health care professionals and inspirational speakers, as well as an accredited psychotherapist who can offer additional advice and support.

You can choose to be involved as much or little as you like, depending on what suits you. You might just want to share your story or have a more regular role contributing to service improvement. We also have links with local research teams, with the opportunity for members to become involved in their work.

If you would like to get involved or get more information about STRIPE, please visit our website or email: uhsussex.sussextrauma@nhs.net
