Trinity Medical Centre is an 11 doctor, purpose-built GP practice located in in the heart of Hove in East Sussex. It was formed in 2017 from the merger of 2 GP practices - Central Hove Surgery and Sackville Medical Centre. We offer a range of GP and nurse led services and clinics including all core GMS services.

We will be accepting new patients after the 15th May 2017, so if you are searching for a GP practice to register with and live within our practice boundary then you are free to register with us. You can pop in to the surgery to get the registration documents or download the registration forms from this site.
Please note that the on-site pharmacy is not connected to the practice in anyway. Patients are free to use any pharmacy. Any feedback about the pharmacy must be given to the pharmacy directly and not to the practice team.

All children in Reception class and School Years 1, 2, 3 and 4 (born between 1 September 2008 and 31 August 2013) will be offered the vaccine by their School Nurse but those who ALSO have a long-term health condition may choose to attend surgery instead.
If you are not eligible to receive the vaccination through the Surgery please contact your local pharmacy who can offer this at a small charge

The Extended Hours Service cancellation number is 07540 745730. If you are cancelling during the week then please call the main surgery number. In an emergency you can also call the main EHS contact number which is 07540 745728.
Telephone Number Change
As from 1st September we will move to one main number for patients – this will be 01273 736030.
Getting through to the Surgery on the Telephone
We are aware that it can be very difficult to get through on the phone when calling the surgery since we moved. We have acted on the feedback we have received and also from the monitoring we have been undertaking and we have implemented some changes to try and improve your experience. We have increased the numbers of lines both into and out of the practice and are currently recruiting some additional staff to be able to assist with the very heavy demand we are experiencing on a daily basis. We have re-recorded all of the phone greetings to make some changes to the message options to help us deal with a greater numbers of calls more efficiently. We will advise you by recorded message when call volumes are particularly high so that you have the option of calling at another time. We are currently receiving approximately 9,000 calls per month (circa 500 incoming calls per day ), which is 50% of our practice population telephoning in, and we are doing our very best to try and service these calls in a timely manner. The average wait time for a call to be answered is approximately 5 minutes and the average time spent on each call is 2.53 minutes
We apologise if you are finding it takes longer to get through sometimes and we would urge you to call outside of peak times (usually 8.30am – 10am, 12.00pm – 1.00pm and 5.00pm – 6.00pm) if your enquiry is routine. This will allow us to prioritise urgent calls and it may be less frustrating for you trying to get through at very busy times. We do ask that you bear with us whilst we continue to review and make changes. If you wish to order a prescription or book/cancel appointments with the doctors, please do register for our On-Line Services as this will allow you to do this at your own convenience. Please come into the practice with photo ID to get set up.

Allocation of patients by named GP
Please be advised that Trinity Medical Centre's patients will be allocated a named GP. If you have any concerns or would like more information about this, please speak to us.
The Accessible Information Standard (AIS) is a new NHS England information standard which must be implemented by all organisations that provide NHS or adult social care.
The AIS aims to ensure that people who have a disability, impairment or sensory loss receive information that they can access and understand, for example in large print, Braille or via email, and professional communication support if they need it, for example from a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter.
If you would like information in an alternative format, for example large print or easyread, or if you need help with communicating with us, for example because you use British Sign Language, please let us know. You can call us on 01273 744910 or 736030.
Further to guidance that we have received from the Local Medical Committee, with immediate effect, if a prescription is to be collected by a patient's carer or relative, the reception staff need to be clear that the patient's permission has be given.
A patient's consent for collection by a third party needs to be recorded by the practice and the person collecting should be able to confirm patient's name, address and the date of birth.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and we hope that patients will understand and respect our strict rules on privacy.
If you have a rash and are coming to the medical centre please let the reception staff know. We have had a rise of cases of measles within the community and would like to stay vigilant, meaning we're asking anyone who is coming with a rash to wait in the lobby instead of the waiting room for infection control purposes.
